Village offices to turn ‘smart’ in state
Edappal: The state revenue department is all set to make a reformation of village offices with ‘Smart Revenue Office’ project. A total of 50 village offices will turn smarter under the project. The department has sanctioned Rs 22 crore in the first phase of the project.
Apart from this, Rs 18 crore was also allotted for the basic development of the village offices.
Ahead of the implementation of the development project, a detailed estimate of works and furniture will be prepared on Price Software. District collectors have approved this estimate to undertake the project. The project includes construction of village offices and basic infrastructure development of the present village offices.
In the first phase of the smart village project, a few village offices are listed in each district.
It is listed as Thiruvananthapuram-7, Kollam-6, Pathanamthitta-2, Alappuzha-3, Kottayam-2, Ernakulam-4, Thrissur -7, Palakkad-5, Malappuram-2, Kozhikode-2, Kannur-5 and Kasaragod-5.
Basic infrastructure development of village offices including maintenance, construction of compound wall and additional rooms will be carried out with the fund of Rs 18 crore.
