Swapna Suresh, Vijesh Pillai
Kochi: Swapna Suresh, accused in the diplomatic baggage gold smuggling case, had alleged that a middleman Vijesh Pillai offered her Rs 30 crore to stop targeting Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his family. However, Vijesh Pillai asserted that the accusations raised by Swapna are false and his meeting with Swapna was solely for the purpose of business.
Vijesh claimed that he had not attempted to settle the gold smuggling case or threaten anyone. He denied meeting CPM state secretary MV Govindan in person ever though they come from the same place.
The Enforcement Directorate interrogated Vijesh Pillai till Thursday midnight.
“I had met Swapna from Bengaluru to discuss a web series on an OTT platform. She visited our hotel for the meeting,” said Vijesh. The photos released by Swapna were taken during that discussion. Meanwhile, he dismissed accusations levelled by Swapna and said he has no connection with the party.
