Vijay Babu

Kochi: In a startling revelation, the actress who lodged a sexual assault complaint against actor-producer Vijay Babu alleged that she was offered Rs 1 crore as compromise. In an exclusive interview with mathrubhumi.com, the survivor said that Vijay Babu used his contacts to influence the witnesses by offering a significant amount of money.

She said that through a friend, Vijay Babu promised to pay Rs 1 cr if she withdraws her complaint. I have informed this to the police, she added.

"I lodged the complaint overcoming fear and legal hurdles without informing my family. I was ready to bring him before justice for the things he did to me. I filed a complaint with the clear knowledge that I will have to face consequences. But, I am not worried about what others think," she said.

The survivor said that even when she tried to distance herself from the actor, he constantly threatened and abused her. She also denied claims that she was trying to blackmail the actor.

"Vijay Babu pleaded before me not to file the complaint. He said that he was ready for any kind of compromise. If my complaint wasn't genuine, wasn't it better for me to concede to his offer?" she asked. She added that there was no truth behind the actor claiming that she had demanded money from him. She challenged him to release any screenshot or proof to establish this claim.

"There was no financial dealing between us whatsoever. He paid me only Rs 20,000 for acting in his movie despite the film making crores in the box office. This injustice happened because I was a newcomer in the industry. This may be the financial deal he mentioned. If he had paid anything else, they let him show the proof for it," she said.

The actress said that she had audio recordings of Vijay Babu’s phone call with her sister in which he said he would kill himself. She added that she is ready to go to any extent to get justice.

"He shouted at me, hit me, and forced me to have sex. I suffered trauma as he made me do bad things. Unable to bear this, I once ran away from the apartment. He started to threaten me after I said that I wanted to end this relationship," she said.

The survivor said that she was selected for his film through an audition and they had no intimate relationship before the film shoot started. Vijay spoke to me professionally during these times, she said.

She also said that a medical doctor who examined her and a policewoman misbehaved toward her.
