Kochi: Actor-producer Vijay Babu cancelled his air ticket from Dubai to Kerala booked for Monday. His advocate informed the court that he will reach Kochi on Wednesday morning. He is wanted by the Kerala Police on a sexual assault case.
Babu had earlier submitted the ticket for Monday on Emirates flight when the court demanded proof that he will return to India to hear his anticipatory bail plea.
Police told the court that they were not informed if Vijay Babu would surrender. They have started the process to issue a red corner notice and arrest him at the airport itself. The court has not heard the anticipatory bail yet. Vijay is trying to evade the arrest.
Police say the evidence against the actor is very strong. They have received information about an actor who helped him to stay in Dubai and also another actress who tried to persuade the survivor to withdraw the complaint.
