Vigilance to interrogate M. Sivasankar over Life Mission scam

Thiruvananthapuram: The Vigilance is set to interrogate M. Sivasankar in connection with the Wadakkanchery Life Mission scam.

The department will approach the court on Tuesday seeking permission to question the IAS officer. Officials have collected details of the vehicles at the Life Mission office and their travel history.

The Vigilance will submit the petition at the Ernakulam District Principal Sessions Court. At present, Sivasankar is in prison under judicial custody. If the Vigilance receives permission, Sivasankar will be interrogated on Tuesday itself.

The Vigilance now needs to interrogate Sivasankar in connection with the Wadakkanchery Life Mission case. They have already interrogated all the other accused including Swapna Suresh. Vigilance has already clarified that a huge scam has taken place in connection with the Life Mission project.

Based on Swapna’s statement, Vigilance has found that Rs 1 crore deposited in her locker was bribe received in connection with Life Mission. The officials are interrogating Sivasankar for further clarifications.

The logbook of vehicles in the Life Mission office has been collected to understand the places to where the officials had travelled.
