Vigilance seizes Rs 47.35 lakh from KM Shaji’s residence; returns gold, foreign currency

Kozhikode: The Vigilance on Thursday submitted in court here, the final report relating to the raid conducted at the residences of Muslim League leader KM Shaji the other day. According to the report Rs 47.35 lakh was seized from his residences. 77 documents were also submitted along with the report.

The 50 sovereigns of gold and foreign currencies confiscated from his houses were returned after finding no irregularity over it, the report further stated.

KM Shaji had earlier stated that the foreign currencies belonged to his children’s collection.
