Vigilance seize 2 bikes from house of municipality general secretary accused in bribery case

Pathanamthitta: Two bikes with the same number plate were seized from the house of Thiruvalla municipality general secretary, who was arrested by the Pathanamthitta vigilance team in connection with a bribery case. The accused has been identified as Narayanan Stalin.

He was arrested along with his office attendant Haseena Beegam while they were accepting bribes the other day. They were nabbed from the secretary’s cabin around 4 pm.

As per reports, the duo had accepted a bribe of Rs 25,000 from Christopher, a contractor, who was hired for solid waste management in the municipality. The bribe was demanded for renewal of the fitness certificate of the solid waste management unit.

Following repeated demands for bribe, Christopher approached the vigilance officials. According to Haseena’s statement, the money was to be deposited in the personal account of the secretary.

The investigation and arrest was carried out by a team of officials, including Pathanamthitta vigilance DySP Hari Vidyadharan, circle inspectors K Anilkumar, S Ashraf, J Rajeev, ASIs Harilal, Shaji John, CPO Reshma Raj among others.
