Vigilance probe an attempt to whitewash Chief Minister, alleges MT Ramesh
Kottayam: BJP state general secretary, MT Ramesh, stated that the vigilance probe launched in connection with the Life Mission project is intended to whitewash the Chief Minister and his actions.
“The CM has decided how the investigation should be conducted. The CM has already told the vigilance that he cannot be interrogated in connection with the incident,” stated MT Ramesh at a press conference held in Kottayam.
It is assured that the Chief Minister and his office will have to be interrogated in connection with the Life Mission project. Pinarayi Vijayan has given instructions regarding the investigation foreseeing this. Central agencies will have to investigate this case. Pinarayi Vijayan wants to prepare a report before that happens, MT Ramesh said.
The BJP leader also added that the Chief Minister’s remarks about the mental state of media persons should be criticised. “I don’t understand why Pinarayi Vijayan gets provoked by questions from the media. The CM is trying to suppress the protests taking place in the state. The central leadership should be willing to correct the Chief Minister,” he added.
The BJP general secretary also added that he does not understand why CPI deviated from their earlier position and started to support KT Jaleel in the issue.
Kanam Rajendran and others had taken a strong stance when allegations were levelled against other ministers. But they changed their stance once Jaleel was accused in the case, MT Ramesh said.
He questioned what kind of transactions took place behind this.
