Vigilance enquiry recommended against ADGP R Sreelekha
Thiruvananthapuram: A Vigilance enquiry has been recommended against ADGP R Sreelekha for alleged misuse of funds when she was the Transport Commissioner, a report said today.
The recommendation submitted by the Transport Department during the tenure of Tomin J Thachankary has been okayed by Transport Minister A K Saseendran.
The report has been handed over to the Chief Secretary for further procedures.
The allegations against her include the sanction for air conditioning of Palakkad RT office without adhering to the guidelines, transfer of officials in AMVI/MVI posts violating the rules and use of MVD vehicle and official phone even after quitting the post of Transport Commissioner. The report also points to irregularities in the use of road safety fund.
Thachankary’s report states that the allegations with regard to transfer of officials holds some substance.
The road leading to her residence was revamped by spending lakhs of rupees. The report also recommends to reclaim the loss to the exchequer due to such activities from Sreelekha. It is also learned that Sreelekha had given an advertisement in media for the appointment of a consultant without the consent of the government.
