Thiruvananthapuram: There are glaring irregularities in road constructions by local govt bodies in Kerala, suggests the examination conducted as part of vigilance department’s Operation Saral Rastha-3.
Samples from 150 roads were taken and the officials found that prima facie 110 roads have irregularities. However, the officials maintained that clear-cut picture of irregularities could be ascertained only after the review of samples.
Meanwhile, irregularities were also found in at least 20 roads maintained by Kerala Public Works Department.
It may be noted that the vigilance has been conducting prompt examinations in the wake of rampant complaints against bad condition of roads that were constructed just months before.
