Vigilance arrests former minister Ebrahim Kunju from hospital

Kochi: The Vigilance has recorded the arrest of former minister V K Ebrahim Kunju in connection with the Palarivattom flyover scam case. The Vigilance probe team arrived at the residence of Ebrahim Kunju at Aluva here on Wednesady. However, he was not present in the house.

A 10-member team headed by the DySP reached his residence. As per reports, only Ebrahim Kunju’s wife was present at the house. Soon after women police arrived at the place, the officials entered the house for checking. The relatives told the officials that Ebrahim Kunju was not present at home and was under treatment at a private hospital in Kochi.

With this, the vigilance team went to the hospital and recorded the arrest. Ebrahim Kunju was admitted to Lakeshore hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

Earlier, Ebrahim Kunju was interrogated multiple times by the vigilance team. He was summoned by notice for quizzing every time. However, the officials visited his house without issuing any prior notice this time. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Vigilance are investigating the case currently. ED officials also had questioned him earlier in connection with the case.
