Malappuram: Opposition leader V D Satheesan came down heavily on higher education minister R Bindu, accusing her of attempting to influence the investigation on marklist related case at Maharajas College, involving SFI state secretary PM Arsho.

He launched a scathing attack on Arsho as well, alleging that he was the one who helped K Vidya, PhD student at Kalady University, accused of forging documents to secure a position as a guest lecturer.

Hinting conspiracy, Satheesan noted that marklists are usually uploaded on the Maharajas' website after thorough verification. The opposition claimed that SFI leadership had threatened the principal of the institution, to favor them in the case.

“It should be noted that SFI workers in the college with less than 2 percent attendance were allowed to write exams. Apart from this, it is Arsho who helped his fellow party member Vidya to generate a fake experience certificate for securing PhD admission at Kalady University,” alleged Satheesan.

“It is sad that the trustworthiness of higher educational institutions in the state is at stake, due to the corrupt practices of a few,” he added.

The opposition leader also condemned the death of Left party-loyalist Razakh, who died by suicide allegedly due to the apathy of the CPM-led panchayat administration.
