Vice principal post to replace headmaster post in Kerala schools, announces education minister

Thiruvananthapuram: Education Minister V Sivankutty announced that the post of headmaster in schools will be replaced with the vice principal post. Addressing the media here on Wednesday, the minister declared that principals will be the head of Higher Secondary Schools in the state.

Taking a serious note on mobile phone use, the minister urged the students to avoid using mobile phones on school campuses and in classrooms. He also appealed to the teachers and parents to keep an eye on the mobile phone use of the children.

“ The education department has already issued an order banning mobile phones on school premises. But the online classes during the COVID period made the children depend on mobile phones to communicate with teachers and attend classes. Excessive use of mobile phones resulted in health problems among students. This issue will be discussed at the regional level meeting,” he added.
