U K Bhasi had served as KSU state vice president, Palakkad district president, Youth Congress Palakkad district general secretary, Malappuram district president and DCC general secretary.

Malappuram: Veteran Congress leader and KPCC general secretary U K Bhasi passed away at the age of 75. The demise occurred at a private hospital in Kozhikode on Wednesday morning. U K Bhasi had been Malappuram DCC president for 20 years.

The last rites will be held at his residence at Kattilangadi in Tanur on Wednesday afternoon. He is survived by wife Sasiprabha, son Dr U K Abhilash (Youth Congress state general secretary) and daughters Dhanya and Bhavya.

U K Bhasi had served as KSU state vice president, Palakkad district president, Youth Congress Palakkad district general secretary, Malappuram district president and DCC general secretary. He was also one of the founders of Tanur Urban Bank and former member of Tanur gram panchayat.
