Verdict in Attappadi Madhu case on March 30

Mannarkkad: The SC-ST court which is hearing the lynching of Madhu from Attappadi will deliver the verdict on the murder case on March 30.

The hearing, started on April 28, 2022, and was completed on March 10, 2023. The date for the verdict was decided on Saturday. As many as 16 people have been named in the chargesheet.

There were 127 prosecution witnesses in the case. Of the 100 witnesses who were heard during the trial, 24 were declared hostile. Another 24 were later removed without being heard. Two people died.

The reluctance of prosecutors to take up the case and the family's demand for the removal of special prosecutor had triggered controversies.

Hearing started in the court of judge KS Madhu. He was later transferred and judge KM Ratheesh Kumar took charge of the case later.
