Venjaramoodu twin murder: FIR states accused to be Congress workers; 2 more arrested
Thiruvananthapuram: The police have stated in the FIR that those who murdered two DYFI workers in Venjarammoodu are Congress workers. The accused arrived at the place on Sunday with the intention to kill Haq Muhammed and Mithilaj. The attack was led by key accused Sajeev and second accused Ansar.
Sajeev verbally abused Sheheel who lodged a complaint in the case and the accused attacked Sheheel's friends Haq and Mithilaj after this, as mentioned in the FIR. The visuals of the attack was captured in the CCTV camera. Mithilaj died on the spot and Haq died in a hospital later.
The accused fled from the scene after abandoning a machete and a knife in the crime spot. The police have nabbed 8 persons including key accused Sajeev, Sanal, Shajith, Ansar and Sathi. Sajeev and Sanal are directly involved in the incident, police said.
Shajith was forcefully nabbed from his house. Investigation is progressing focussing on local INTUC leader Unni. It is suspected that he and his brother Sanal had helped the culprits escape and were also part of the conspiracy. Thiruvananthapuram Rural SP made it clear that they have intensified the investigation into the case.
