Vengara bypoll: IUML conducts secret survey to select candidate
Vengara: The Indian Union Muslim League(IUML) has conducted a secret survey to select the best candidate to contest in the Vengara Assembly bypolls.
Vengara seat in Malappuram fell vacant after P K Kunhalikutty resigned as MLA after his election to the Lok Sabha.
604 people including panchayat members of the constituency participated in the survey conducted by Confederation of Kerala College Teachers, an IUML-affiliated teachers' organization.
Abdurahiman Randathani, who was not included in the list and Muslim League General Secretary KPA Majeed have got priority in the survey.
Apart from KPA Majeed, KNA Khader and C P Bava Haji were included in the survey.
It is learnt that the survey was conducted on the directions of Muslim League state committee.
Even though the name of former Tanur MLA Abdurahiman Randathani was not included in the list, those who participated in the survey added his name too.
Meanwhile, IUML-affilicated school teachers' association KSTU also conducted a similar survey. The party will select the candidate after considering KSTU's survey also.
