Vellapally demands CBI probe into death of BDJS general secretary
Alappuzha: SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan demanded a CBI probe into the death of BDJS general secretary KK Maheshan who was found hanging inside the SNDP union office in Alappuzha. He pointed out that Maheshan committed suicide as he was worried that he will be booked in a fake case over micro-finance scam.
“Some people who were irked over not getting administrative posts in the party campaigned against him. People including Subash Vasu and S Rajeevan conspired to destroy Maheshan,” alleged Vellapally.
He also asserted that he never had any difference of opinion with Maheshan. The SNDP leader pointed out that Maheshan was his right hand.
“We moved together in unison. Many people tried to defame him as a corrupt man. He ended his life as he was going through a lot of tensions due to the negative remarks. Maheshan is an innocent man. He did not commit any mistake. But he was worried that he will get arrested over micro-finance scam,” said Vellappally.
The SNDP Yogam general secretary declared that Maheshan has no links with the micro-finance scam.
“He phoned me recently. During the conversation, he hinted that he will commit suicide if he gets arrested. I possess a copy of Maheshan’s diary. A person who hailed him destroyed his life,” added the SNDP leader.
Maheshan served SNDP as an administrator of Cherthala union for 6 years. Some people who wished to get an entry in the new administration committee started to harass him when they failed to get a post. They alleged that Maheshan received a bribe of Rs 5 crore over job appointment in a school. The forces which oppose SNDP attacked Maheshan. He was disturbed with that, added Vellappally.
Following these allegations, another campaign started against him over his role in micro-finance scam.
“Actually, the funds of micro-finance was handled by a clerk named Surendran. Maheshan never touched the money. As allegations were raised against him, Cherthala union held talks with Maheshan. It also disturbed him. Amidst this, he faced a probe into the matter. He was mentally disturbed with all these incidents,” said Vellapally.
At the same time, Vellapally Natesan noted that he phoned Maheshan to settle the issues.
“On the day of his death, he planned a meeting with Tushar at 10 am. He had sent a secret letter to me. He told me to never show that letter to anyone. I want to do justice to his soul. So, I will never disclose the letter to anyone. Many people are joining hands together to destroy SNDP. But they will not succeed in the mission,” he added.
The SNDP leader demanded a detailed probe into the death of Maheshan and also to identify those for abetment to suicide.
"CBI probe should be carried out and immediate action taken to prosecute the convicts,” he demanded.
