Kerala Health Minister Veena George.

Kozhikode: Health Minister Veena George said that the route map of the 12-year-old who died of Nipah infection on Sunday will be published. She also said that those who had made close contact with the deceased will be isolated and protocol followed. The minister also pointed out that the boy wasn’t infected by Covid-19.

The authorities are currently preparing the contact list of the deceased and the list of the primary contacts is ready. Attempts are also being made to trace the origin of the disease. The minister said that reviews are being conducted in this regard.

The health workers who treated the child were also asked to go into isolation. A route map will be prepared, detailing the travel history of the child, including vehicles used.

The child reported at the hospital on August 27 after signs of fever. He was later shifted from medical college to a private hospital. The health minister said an inquiry would be held to identify why the disease could not be detected from the medical college itself.
