Vattiyoorkavu, Konni victories stand testimony to govt’s performance: Kodiyeri Balakrishnan
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan claimed that victories in Konni and Vattiyoorkavu constituencies are testimonies to the welfare activities of the state government.
However, Kodiyeri said the defeat in Aroor constituency took the shine off from the other two victories in the bypolls. He added that the party would carefully look into the defeat in Aroor.
LDF candidates VK Prasanth and Adv. KU Janeesh Kumar emerged victorious from Vattiyoorkavu and Konni constituencies respectively. Both Vattiyoorkavu and Konni constituencies were sitting seats of the UDF.
Earlier, LDF had won the Pala bypoll taking the front’s tally of seats to 3 out of the 6 constituencies where bypolls were held this year. This is the first time that LDF has won in Vattiyoorkavu since the constituency was formed. The same is the case with Konni, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said.
He also said that the mandate was given by the people as a response against the opposition’s anti- development stance and destructive attitude. "The results prove that the roots of democracy and secularism are strong in Kerala," Kodiyeri opined.
