Vanchiyoor court issue: HC Chief Justice asks bar council to conduct probe, submit report
Kochi: The High Court Chief Justice has directed to submit a detailed report regarding the issue between magistrate and lawyers at Vanchiyoor court in Thiruvananthapuram. The chief justice directed the bar council members to probe into the issue and submit the report on December 5.
This was directed after the bar council members held a meeting with the chief justice and four other judges who have administrative duties on Monday at 10 am. The meeting lasted for about one and a half hours.
It is not yet confirmed whether the complaints filed by the magistrate and the lawyers against each other will be withdrawn. Also it is yet to be clarified whether the high court would file a suo motu case as the Judicial Officers Association sent a letter in this regard.
The bar council members responded that the issue will be resolved peacefully. A meeting of all bar council office-bearers will be held in Kochi on December 4.
The bar council informed that they will take action to prevent issues between magistrates and lawyers in future. They further said that evidence will be collected at Vanchiyoor court on Tuesday itself.
