Valluvanad’s own tusker Cherpulassery Parthan dies
Palakkad: One of the most admired elephants in Kerala, Cherpulassery Parthan died at the age of 44. He has been undergoing treatment for physical ailments for the past four months.
Parthan was one of the prominent tuskers used for processions of temple festivals in Valluvanad region. It was Parthan who was supposed to carry the idol of Kanimangalam Sastha at Thrissur Pooram this year.
The elephant lovers used to call Cherpulassery Parthan as the prince among the elephants in Kerala. Parthan is owned by Sabari Group. The tusker died at the elephant camp of Sabari Group in Karalmanna.
