Vaikom (Kottayam): Kottayam CPI district secretary VB Binu here on Sunday said that a complaint has been lodged with the public relations department (PRD) in protest against the exclusion of CK Asha MLA from the poster of the Vaikom Satyagraha Centenary conference.

“The LDF has given more importance to the people's representative than other ministers at an event attended by two chief ministers. The PRD should have taken care of such matters. The MLA should be given the most significance when it comes to the programmes of the state government,” said the district secretary.

Meanwhile, CK Asha MLA alleged that although she was given adequate representation at the event, it was the PRD’s failure that she was not included in the poster.

The CPI had expressed objection over the issue the other day. Following this, the district secretary spoke to the media to clarify the matter.
