Vadakkanchery bus tragedy

Thrissur: Minister K Radhakrishnan visited the Govt Medical College hospital to enquire about the injured persons who are undertaking treatment after the accident at Vadakkencherry. He was stopped by Asha teacher who asked him about the health condition of her daughter. “Sir, my daughter also accompanied me in bus. Her name is Anjana. Is she alright?” Asha asked.

Without wasting much time, the minister contacted a hospital in Palakkad, where Anjana was admitted. Not revealing the truth of Anjana’s death, the minister consoled Asha saying her health was satisfactory.

Asha was confident that her daughter will be fine. “She was sitting next to me and look, I have no serious injuries,” she said. Later, Asha requested the minister not to inform her husband regarding her injuries as he is a heart patient. The minister was hard of words to give a reply to Asha.

40-year-old Asha is a teacher of English at Baselios Vidyanikethan school in Ernakulam. Anjana was a Plus Two student in the same school.
