Palakkad: Kollam Chavara police arrested the tourist bus driver involved in the bus accident which claimed 9 lives in Palakkad’s Vadakkencherry. The accused is identified as Jomon alias Jojo Pathrose, a native of Ernakulam.

It is learnt that he was nabbed by the police while heading to meet his lawyer.

The accident occurred around 11.30 PM on Wednesday when the tourist bus, which was travelling at a high speed, while attempting to overtake a car, hit the rear end of a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus.

The high speed of the tourist bus and the negligence of its driver led to the accident, informed the transport minister Antony Raju.
