V Muraleedharan's press conference violated oath, alleges CPM
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM has lashed out against Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan, against his press conference in New Delhi.
In a press release, the CPM state secretariat alleged that the Union Minister’s press conference in connection with the cases investigated by central agencies was a violation of oath.
CPM alleged that Muraleedharan announced publicly that the agencies acted upon the instructions from the BJP.
There has been misuse of power from the part of V Muraleedharan over the past few years. The Union Minister intervenes in investigation of cases and holds press conferences based on the statements given by the accused, CPM stated.
The High Court had stated the other day that publishing of statements during the investigation stage of a case is a crime. Even then, Muraleedharan holds press conferences based on these statements. This is against the law and challenges the High Court.
The CPM further alleged that the Leader of Opposition and BJP state president gave out statements after discussing it with each other. Later, V Muraleedharan officially announced these statements. This would affect the investigation of the case. Hence, this has to be resisted, stated the press release.
