Kasaragod: Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan asked what is wrong with naming the second campus of Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) after Golwalker.
“Golwalker was a zoology professor in Banaras University. He joined RSS while he was pursuing PhD in Marine Biology. If they cannot name the campus after Golwalker, they cannot name the educational institutions after the Left wing leader who was imprisoned,” Muraleedharan said.
Pookoya Thangal Memorial College was set up in Perinthalmanna when K Karunakaran was Congress leader and C Achutha Menon was the chief minister. Congress had no problem in naming a government college after a Muslim League leader, Muraleedharan stated.
The union minister also said that the probe into the gold smuggling case is progressing and the source and recipient of the gold should be traced. The NIA and Customs are trying to find out the same, Muraleedharan said.
New people are getting involved in the case as the probe progresses. The court said that more people are involved in the case. The investigation will be continued until the probe agencies confirm that the probe is complete, he added.
