Kozhikode: Former professor and head of the department of urology, Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, Dr Roy Chally, passed away here at his residence on Monday. He was 85.

His mortal remains will be kept for public homage at Patteri Chally house till noon and Baby Memorial Hospital between 12-1 pm.

The body will be later taken to his native Mulanthuruthy and laid to rest at Orthodox Church cemetery on Tuesday morning 10.

Dr Chally was a renowned teacher and surgeon. He, along with Dr Sasidharan and Dr Thomas Mathew, conducted the first kidney transplantation in Kerala in 1988 at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
