Balaramapuram: 26-year-old Arya, a teacher by profession, scripted a remarkable comeback story by securing 36th rank in her second attempt in the UPSC CSE. She had failed to clear prelims in her first attempt. Besides, her loss in state PSC exam in the same year acted as a double whammy for the young aspirant.

However the young woman from Balaramapuram was not ready to give up. Fighting all odds, she emerged victorious, fulfilling her childhood dream of becoming a civil servant.

Arya is an MA graduate from Pondicherry University. While her father Venkiteshwaran Potti is a retired health department officer, her mother VR Mini is a retired teacher.

Arya recollected that she used to study newspapers thoroughly during her UPSC preparations. Arya’s parents, expressing happiness on their daughter’s achievement, said that all they ever wished for was a decent job for their daughter.
