Thiruvananthapuram: CPM politburo member and former MP Brinda Karat and MLA KK Rema, wife of slain Revolutionary Marxist Party leader TP Chandrashekharan sat next to each other and exchanged pleasantries while attending the National Women Legislators' Conference 2022 organised by the Kerala State Assembly. CPM leader Subhashini Ali embraced Rema before getting on the stage ahead of the beginning of the second session.

Subhashini Ali and Brinda Karat spoke during the seminar on Thursday. Rema delivered the Vote of Thanks for the seminar. Brinda also started a huge round of applause for Rema as her name was called out for delivering the speech. Brinda Karat had pledged her support for KK Rema following the murder of TP Chandrashekharan in 2012.

A Kozhikode court in 2014 had held three CPM leaders accused of planning the murder of Chandrasekharan guilty.
