Kozhikode: AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, who accompanied her brother and AICC president Rahul Gandhi for filing nomination in Wayanad, spent a sleepless night on Wednesday due to an ‘unsolicited guest’ at the PWD guest house at West Hill in Kozhikode. The dramatic incident occurred at night in the attic of the guest house after an Asian Palm Civet (Marapatty in Malayalam) kept running across the roof.

Priyanka had arrived with Rahul on Wednesday by 10.30 pm and went to bed by 11.30 pm after discussions. However, she woke up at 2.30 am in the morning due to disturbing noises in the attic and called the security personnel.

It was found that the palm civet kept running across the roof causing the noise. Priyanka was also irritated with the foul smell of the animal. The police tried to get rid of the palm civet but in vain. With this, they started planning to move her stay to Raviz Kadavu Hotel.

The special branch was directed to arrange the facilities including the convoy vehicles to shift to the hotel. Meanwhile, the palm civet moved from the attic and Priyanka decided to stay at guest house for the rest of the night.
