Thiruvananthapuram: The court granted permission to shift the University stabbing case accused Shivaranjith and Nazeem from the district jail to the central jail. Both are lodged at the district jail in the case relating to stabbing of a university college student and SFI activist Akhil. The court order is as per the request put forward by the accused.
Both had submitted a plea in the court requesting to shift them from the jail as they face a cholera threat and also danger from other jail inmates. The jail authorities had given a report to the court stating that the details in the plea filed by the accused are not true.
The accused told the Magistrate in person that they face intimidation from the accused in the Ananthu case. The court accepted their request and ordered them to be shifted to another jail.
