Thiruvananthapuram: Shivaranjith and Nazeem, who are in police custody in connection with the stabbing case at the University College here, were seen to be given full freedom. They were free to see and interact with their friends even when police officials were accompanying them.
When taken for medical examination and to court, police provided them opportunity to interact with leaders and friends. Court had accepted Shivaranjith’s request for meeting his lawyer on strict conditions. But police were liberal on these matters.
The accused were able to interact freely with friends without any police presence. Many, including SFI leaders had arrived to meet the accused.
Strong allegations are surfacing that CPM leaders have intervened to arrange facilities for the accused inside the jail.
Meanwhile, injured Akhil is still under treatment at the hospital. His father Chandran had opined that let the case move legally.
