Scenes from Thiruvananthapuram city during unexpected rains
Thiruvananthapuram: At a time when brief rains amid scorching summer are bringing some relief to residents in some parts of the Kerala, city regions of the state capital witnessed heavy rains.
The rains accompanied by strong winds and lightning caused troubles in the city and its outskirts.
Waterlogging has been reported from many parts in and around the city, including Thampanoor. Similarly, in some places trees collapsed due to strong winds damaged houses.

Boards and flex hoardings were swayed and some were even uprooted. Adding to the woes, the pits dug as a part of Smart City project in the city made public mobility distressful. In some locations traffic was disrupted.

In Pangodu, the tree collapsed put traffic on standstill. Water entered the Malayankeezhu sub registrar's office.
Meanwhile, in other regions of the district, electricity was disrupted. Crop loss also has been reported.
