Kottayam: Congress leader Oommen Chandy stated that an attempt to sabotage the election is taking place at the government level.
The government had to admit all allegations raised by Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala including gold smuggling and Life Mission scam. Among them, the latest issue was rigged votes which is a serious matter. Congress will go to any extent to stop rigged votes, Oommen Chandy said.
The excellence in the manifesto and candidate selection will benefit the UDF. A pro-UDF wave is present in Puthuppally, Kottayam and all over Kerala, he added.
CPM is taking a double standard in Sabarimala issue. The government filed an affidavit against the rituals and customs. They rejoiced when the verdict came, but changed the stance as the devotees protested, he said.
If CPM genuinely supports the believers, they should change the affidavit. No matter if we are ruling or not, UDF is of the stand that the interests of devotees should be protected, Oommen Chandy said.
