Thiruvananthapuram: Congress leader Oommen Chandy said that the LDF government has not granted any additional rights to the local bodies other than what was granted by the UDF government. The LDF government only curbed the available rights, Oommen Chandy said in a press conference here on Monday.
“The state government has nothing to be proud of, except for their advertisements. Only corruption and favouritism take place here. But the public did not get any benefits. They are totally disappointed in the central and state governments. This will reflect in this election. UDF is facing the polls with full confidence,” Oommen Chandy said.
“About 30 percent of Palarivattom flyover was constructed during the tenure of LDF government. The tests were not performed properly and it was inaugurated hastily. Flyover was not demolished following the procedures. Strength of the flyover was not tested,” he added.
Reacting to the new revelations related to the solar scam, Oommen Chandy said that he does not feel anything about it and many things are yet to be clarified.
“I’m hopeful that truth will come to light one day. I know some secrets in this case. I won’t reveal it as it may hurt some people. When bar bribery and solar cases are more discussed, the truth will be clear,” he stated.
KSFE is a good company. There should be more clarity about the loan repayment of KIIFB. There is no problem in borrowing money for developmental activities, Oommen Chandy said.
