UDF trying to stir up communal sentiments, alleges Kodiyeri Balakrishnan
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Saturday claimed that UDF is trying not to take up political issues as they can sense defeat in the upcoming by-election.
“UDF is trying to stir up religious sentiments in three of the five constituencies in the state where the bypolls are scheduled to take place. They are trying to exploit caste sentiments in the remaining two constituencies,” he added.
Kodiyeri said that nobody is trying to provoke NSS and that they have the liberty to take decisions on their own. “NSS is an organisation representing a strong community in the state. However, if NSS wants to take part in politics, they should form a political party as they have done in the past,” he added.
Kodiyeri expressed confidence regarding the bypolls and said that changes in favour of CPM were visible in all five constituencies.
