UDF may field Kamarudheen in Manjeswaram; Action against Panakkad protestors
Malappuram/Kasaragod: Indian Union Muslim League might announce the UDF candidate for upcoming Manjeswaram bypoll on Wednesday evening. IUML district president M C Kamarudheen and Youth League leader A K M Ashraf are being considered, but more chances are for Kamarudheen.
Meanwhile, it is reported that IUML will take disciplinary action against Youth League members of Manjeswaram who protested in front of the Panakkad house, the other day.
On Wednesday, a meeting of IUML leaders was convened at Panakkad house to decide on the Manjeswaram bypoll candidate. Following this Youth League leaders held a discussion with Panakkad Sayed Hyderali Shihab Thangal.
Youth League leader Panakkad Munavvar Ali Shihab Thangal said the demands of Youth League and the opinions of regional leaders have been communicated with the party.
Soon, reports surfaced that action might be taken against the protestors including Majeed Pachambala.
In the IUML high-level meeting held at Panakkad the other day, no decision was taken about the candidate. The names of Kamarudheen, Ashraf were considered. When Youth League and regional leadership strongly recommended Ashraf, tension developed. Following this the regional leaders of Manjeswaram and Youth League members staged a protest in front of Panakkad house.
