Kochi: Despite worries on fissures between Congress and the Muslim League, the UDF liaison meeting on Friday ended peacefully, with IUML leader PK Kunhalikutty refraining from discussing topics that recently soured the party's relationship with Congress.

Earlier, KPCC president K Sudhakaran called allegations against Kunhalikutty in the Shukoor murder case a "serious issue." However, Kunhalikutty said that he had discussions with Sudhakaran on this and he said that the remark was misinterpreted.

Interestingly, Kunhalikutty or IUML leaders didn't mention AK Antony's "soft-Hindutva remark." UDF convener MM Hassan said that AK Antony's remark is not a matter of concern for the Muslim League and not a topic to be discussed during the liaison meeting. He also dismissed Sudhakaran's recent remarks as a "slip of the tongue."
