Kozhikode: UDF convenor M. M. Hassan has clarified the front’s understanding with the Welfare Party of India in the upcoming Local Self Government election.
Addressing a press conference here, Hassan said that there was an understanding between UDF and Welfare Party of India. The Congress leader also said that what he says was the UDF policy.
The other day while addressing a press conference, KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran had said that the UDF did not have any understanding with the Welfare Party of India.
Now, Hassan has come out against this statement. The UDF convenor said that UDF has an understanding with Welfare Party for LSG polls and that Mullappally Ramachandran was aware of it.
During the last polls, the Welfare Party was part of LDF. Then they became a secular outfit. How can the Welfare party become a communal outfit for the LDF when the former joins any other front? Questioned Hassan.
We will decide on allies for the Assembly election when the time comes. Now, the target is to win the LSG polls, Hassan clarified.
