UDF gives Elathoor seat to NCK; will take back next time, says Hassan


The Congress workers in the constituency were of the opinion that the seat should be taken back from NCK.

Thiruvananthapuram: The UDF has decided to field the candidate of NCK (Nationalist Congress Kerala) in Elathoor seat. UDF convenor M M Hassan made it clear that they will take back the seat next time.

Other UDF members who filed the nomination should withdraw the same on Monday, Hassan requested. He further informed that DCC president Sajeevan Master has been directed to discuss the UDF’s decision with those who filed the nomination.

The Congress workers in the constituency were of the opinion that the seat should be taken back from NCK. KPCC and DCC office-bearers in the constituency were firm on their stand that a Congress candidate should contest from the seat.

NCK has fielded Sulfikar Mayoori in the seat. Congress Mandalam committee had fielded KPCC executive council member Dinesh Mani as their candidate.

NCK leader Mani C Kappan had made it clear the other day that NCK will contest from Elathoor seat and others would withdraw their nomination.
