Thiruvananthapuram: The United Democratic Front has declared solidarity with social activist Daya Bai, who continues her hunger strike seeking justice for the victims of the endosulfan tragedy. Convener MM Hassan informed that UDF will conduct a march to the secretariat and Kasaragod collectorate on October 22 upholding the demands of Daya Bai.
“The second Pinarayi Vijayan -led government has become a failure. UDF will proceed with strong protests against the government,” Hassan said.
By questioning the necessity of the Chief Minister’s European visit, the UDF convener alleged that the government has been squandering the financial resources of the state. He demanded that the government should ensure subsidies to reduce the price of rice.
UDF will carry out a demonstration in front of Raj Bhavan on November 10, demanding to increase the working days and wages of workers under the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. State-wide anti-drug campaigns will be launched on November 1 in Ernakulam, added MM Hassan.
