UDF candidate Sobha Subin has 3 votes, 3 election ID cards

Sobha Subin has a total of three votes in two booths of two constituencies. He also possesses three election identity cards including two bearing the same number.

Kodungallur: While opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala keeps raising allegations regarding rigged voters, it has come to light that UDF candidate in Kaipamangalam Sobha Subin has three votes in his name.

Sobha Subin has a total of three votes in two booths of two constituencies. He also possesses three election identity cards including two bearing the same number. The evidence for the duplication of cards and names in voters’ list was disclosed by LDF leaders.

According to the website of Election Commission, Sobha Subin has vote in the number TAB0759035 with serial number 763 at booth number 27 in Kaipamangalam panchayat of Kaipamangalam constituency.

Apart from this, he has an election ID card in the same number with serial number 10 at booth number 144 in Valappad panchayat in Nattika constituency. He also possesses another ID card with the number DBD1446558 with serial number 1243 in the same booth, the LDF leaders pointed out. They alleged that the candidate is guilty as per the law.

Meanwhile, Sobha Subin said that he is unaware of multiple votes in his name. He said that his vote in Valappad panchayat was changed to Kaipamangalam. Its hearing was held at Kodungallur civil station. When enquired about the issue, they said that the vote in Valappad panchayat would be cancelled.

'I have no idea of having two votes at two booths in Valappad. I used to vote with only one election card. No such complaint arose when I was a member of the district panchayat. If the election officials made a mistake in this regard, they have to correct it,' Sobha Subin stated.
