Kochi: Police prosecution director general received letter seeking legal advice for invoking stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment (UAPA) Act against the accused arrested in connection with the murder of OBC Morcha state secretary Ranjith Sreenivasan and SDPI state secretary KS Shan.

Police had already sought legal advice to charge UAPA against the suspects in the murder of A Sreenivasan, an RSS activist in Palakkad. The Director General of Police gave a nod to impose UAPA.

Police informed that tit-for-tat political murders plotted by SDPI and RSS will be dealt sternly and the legal advice for invoking UAPA has been sought in view of this.
