UAPA arrest: Probe teams from other states to reach Kerala
Kozhikode: Anti-Maoist forces from other states will soon reach Kerala in connection with the probe of alleged Maoist links of the youth arrested here with UAPA charges. The investigating officials will arrive in Kerala to examine the evidences collected by Kerala Police.
Police had stated in the court while considering the bail plea of the accused that they have obtained clear evidences linking the youth to Maoists. As per reports, probe teams from other states have demanded Kerala to interrogate arrested Alan Shuhaib and Thaha Fasal in their presence, after obtaining custody.
Police claimed that Alan had met Maoists from other states. This meeting was held at Palakkad. After this Alan became active in Maoist circle. Police had also said that they will probe into this as well.
According to police, even though they could seize only one mobile phone from Alan’s house, he had used six phones. Police are collecting details regarding this.
Police are also investigating the third person who was there with Alan and Thaha.
Meanwhile, a bail plea will be filed at the High Court for Alan today stating police failed to establish Maoist links as they couldn’t obtain evidences from him to prove it. Alan is a law student and has no criminal background, the plea further states.
