UAPA arrest: Alan sent in police custody till Friday, complains against police
Kozhikode: Alan Shuhaib, who was arrested slapping UAPA charges over alleged Maoist links, was sent in police custody till November 15 by the Kozhikode District Sessions Court. Thaha Fasal, who was arrested along with Alan on similar grounds, was not presented at the court due to health issues.
Meanwhile, Alan complained against police officials and said that police were reluctant in providing food. He also complained that jail wardens called him as Maoists.
Alan was sent in custody till 11 am on Friday. Prosecution informed the court that Thaha who is suffering from fever will be produced to the court on Thursday.
Court recorded Alan’s complaint that on November 2nd, police didn’t give him dinner and that jail wardens called him Maoist.
Alan told media that as there are no evidences against him, police are trying to present him as a Maoist using Facebook posts.
When brought to the hospital, Thaha said that he hasn’t not pleaded guilty.
Prosecution opposed the demand of the defendant to video record the interrogation.
