Kunhalikutty betrayed Thangal for ‘four silver coins’: KT Jaleel

“The notice against Thangal has to be withdrawn and it should be sent to Kunhalikkutty. Despite claiming ignorance on the alleged deals through the accounts of Chandrika daily, why Kunhalikkutty is not requesting to withdraw the notice against Thangal,” asked Jaleel.

Thiruvananthapuram: In a scathing attack, Thavanur MLA KT Jaleel has come up alleging that IUML leader PK Kunhalikutty betrayed Panakkad Thangal for ‘four silver coins’.

“The real culprit behind the curtain is Kunhalikutty as he paved the way for Enforcement Directorate questioning Thangal,” said Jaleel. He was speaking during a press conference at the assembly media room in Thiruvananthapuram.

“The notice against Thangal has to be withdrawn and it should be sent to Kunhalikutty. Despite claiming ignorance on the alleged deals through the accounts of Chandrika daily, why Kunhalikutty is not requesting to withdraw the notice against Thangal,” asked Jaleel.

He also said that Kunhalikkutty goes scot-free despite siphoning off crores of rupees. “The people who love Thangal and Muslim League are hurt by his move and there is an uproar against Kunhalikutty in the party.”

In the bid to clear the printing charge dues of the UAE edition of Chandrika daily, which amounted to Rs 6 crores, they had pooled in Rs 4.5 crores, he alleged. “The UAE edition was stopped in January this year. Without paying the dues to the UAE firm, the cash pooled in was pocketed by people in Kerala.”

Chandrika daily has just a PDF edition outside Kerala, which is in Qatar. “Kunhalikutty appointed his confidants on top posts of KMCC. He did this to cash in money; not for upgrading KMCC or Muslim League,” said Jaleel.
