Kochi: Life Mission CEO U. V. Jose appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for questioning in connection with the housing project in Wadakkanchery. Jose came to the CBI office at Kadavanthra here around 11 am.
At present, the CBI has registered a case on charges of conspiracy and violation of Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act. After questioning Jose, the CBI will decide if a corruption case needs to be registered.
The CBI had issued two notices to Jose as the CEO of Life Mission and as an individual. CBI had asked him to submit six important documents regarding Life Mission.
As the CEO of Life Mission, it was Jose who signed the agreement with UAE Red Crescent on behalf of the Kerala government. He will be interrogated regarding the alleged commission of over Rs 4 crore and inaccuracies in the documents. Jose appeared before the CBI when the Kerala High Court is set to consider the case again on Thursday.
CBI had directed Jose to submit the agreement signed between Red Crescent and Life Mission, all details regarding the flats and health centre to be built in Wadakkanchery under the Life Mission project and all documents regarding land deal for the project.
Besides this, the CBI has sought documents regarding the transactions between Sain Ventures and Life Mission. The Life Mission district coordinator has been directed to submit documents regarding transactions with the Wadakkanchery municipality and KSEB in connection with the project.
Meanwhile, Unitac has been directed to submit documents showing its links with the Life Mission project.
