Ebin V Thomas, Alen J Joseph
Ponkunnam: Two youngsters involved in drug smuggling were arrested by the officials of the Excise Circle Office in Ponkunnam. Ernakulam native and aviation course student Ebin V Thomas (22) and Vechoochira native Alen J Joseph (24) were arrested. MDMA worth Rs 3.45 lakh, ganja and other instruments used for consuming drugs were also recovered.
Alen was taken into custody by the excise officials during night patrol after spotting him in a shady situation in Erumely and after finding 1.16 grams of MDMA in his possession. He then said that his friend, Ebin made him sell it. In the raid held at Ebin’s house at night, 26.8 grams of MDMA, 37 OCB paper, 12 grams of ganja, a small electronic weighing machine and 70 small plastic covers to sell drugs were found. A total of 27.96 gms of MDMA was recovered from the youngsters.
Ebin’s family informed that he is staying at a flat in Ernakulam south, following which the excise team from Ernakulam arrived at the place and took him into custody.
Excise CI informed that there is a case registered in the name of Ebin at Vechoochira police station. Alen, who was working abroad, arrived in Kerala only a few months back.
