Women being beaten up
Palakkad: Two women were allegedly assaulted by another woman over mobile phone theft inside a bus here on Friday. According to reports, the lady who found her mobile phone was missing while travelling on the bus slapped the two women who were her co-passengers. Mathrubhumi News has received footage of the incident.
It is alleged that the two women tried to steal the complainant's mobile phone while travelling in the bus which was en route to Malampuzha via Puthur from Palakkad town. The mobile phone was also recovered from their bag. The complainant slapped the two women when they were taken out of the bus for interrogation.
The woman who raised the complaint slapped the two women several times. Later, Palakkad Town North police sent pink police to the spot and took the two women into custody. Later, the two were released without registering a case after the woman who raised the allegations declared that she has no complaint.
It is reported that the two women, who are Pollachi natives, have been regularly committing theft in the area. The police said that both had given wrong details about them.
The footage featured the two women being publicly harassed and anti-women remarks being made by the locals who gathered there.
